You have got to be joking me right now… I will never be rid of these…

I am stuck with the mayors purple shorts. I’ve tried EVERYTHING.

The issue: I got the shorts from Marnie’s room AND the basement, then my husband got the shorts from Marnie AND the basement. This left us with four shorts. We each gifted one to the mayor so now we have two extra shorts.

We put his in the fish tank in the community center.

My extra pair we cannot get rid of.

We have tried:

  1. Putting it in the luau soup – I get it back after

  2. Putting it in a chest in an NPC walkway to destroy it – never worked just moved the chest.

  3. I laced it with gold in hopes I could put it in the dresser or put it on a mannequin – I can’t. I can wear it but I don’t like it.

I just tried going into the mines with nothing in my inventory besides the shorts so I can die and let them go to the item recovery service but never recover them. I took off all my clothes etc.

It cost me $14,800 gold AND THEY STAYED IN MY INVENTORY IM LOSING MY MIND.

Next step is acceptance and just making a green colored chest and hiding it on ginger island.

    Secret shorts in the secret forest? Hide a chest behind the trees? Or use them as a bobber on your rod (I believe this is possible)

    Pretty sure you can also go to Level 100 of the Mines or the Volcano caldera, go up to the lava’s edge, and throw them into the lava if you really want them destroyed. I accidentally threw a journal scrap in the caldera once when I was trying to read it.

    Put normal shorts on your fishing pole to make the tackle last longer. Use a deconstructor to get the shorts back?

    This is funny. But you actually want to keep the shorts near your fishing rod. When you get a good enough rod you will want them.

    Edit: oh wait they are trimmed now. No you need a regular pair.

    Have you tried entering a mine & placing a chest down then putting them inside and then going about your day?

    I know the quarry mine used to let you place stuff in there *{down the ladder}* but once the day ended it all got destoryed due to it being reset at the end of the day.

    You could also maybe go in to lewis’s house & put a chest in his bed room & gather a load of the shorts via the basement trick & then just have that chest be your towns lore of it’s his pants draw or somthing like that.

    Maybe you could put all things purple inside said chest and make it like a shrine inside the chest to his **”lucky”** shorts.

    Here’s all the safe locations to place somthing inside his house.
