We need to talk about this Terraria weapon… Terraria 1.4.5 the Bigger and Boulder update is finally here! And includes so much stuff from all areas of the game. Included in this are a bunch of new weapons as part of the Dead Cells crossover. Today we’re looking at one of the BEST new weapons added, the Barrel Launcher. This thing is an absolute beast, and could become the new early hardmode ranged meta. Enjoy!

Yo I got this yesterday and the damage is definitely really good, just dropped randomly when the pirate invasion event happened
I've used the Barrel Launcher in Dead Cells itself, has some skill expression but nothing insane to write home about. Nice to see it doing well in Terraria!
I’m sorry, you pronouncing “uzi” as “uhzzy” is distracting the hell out of me.
Hilariously the Barrel Launcher in Dead Cells is completely unusable, due to an N% chance of summoning an enemy barrel which can cause completely non-reactable damage. You're basically rolling the dice on binning a run every time you have to use it.
one of my new all time faves, as its carried me a decent bit into hardmode and even helped with a couple bosses, like queen and destroyer before i went to summoner build.
I have a feeling this weapon is gonna get nerfed

I picked this up in my last play-through and I was also impressed. It only really fell off once the hardmode dungeon initiated.
Though my excitement for this item mostly stems from the fact that we now have a weapon dropped by the pirate invasion that is both reliably obtained and is very strong.
I appreciate having more of a reason to interact with the event.
Really like this thing, probably my second favorite weapon of the update behind the Flint.
The Flint is nasty.

Love me a good launcher, and NO AMMO? OBTAINABLE OUT THE GATE IN HARDMODE?
I just wish that accessories where remade/buffed or even new ones added, lack of sets ( including sets uniquenes when it comes to "power") and of course more diversity when it comes to weapons since melee has so much diversity, mage and ranger too then why summoner has only whips and very little choice when it comes to summons and those summons get ocassionaly stuck behind blocks until you get Terraprisma?
I love melee but man give some love to other classes too.. it's frustrating.
Also the explosion texture and sound is so good

Now the real question is how does this weapon do against Duke?

This made fighting the mechanical bosses 10 times more fun.
Any weapon that can may the Destroyer's day miserable, is a win in my book

I would of expected it to have a expensive special ammunition.
Although for newer players it may still be hard to actually have to aim and dodge at the same time if you end up with a corrupted desert the onyx blaster is ridiculously easy to get.
I feel like the flint is a great choice for mech boss as it absolutely decimates destroyer
barrel launcher was goated for my destroyer fight
It's also really good for afk farming when combined with the stress ball. Just position your mouse so the explosion lines up where you want it to, and because it goes through blocks you can be fully enclosed and still hit many enemies for great damage even later in hardmode when paired with lava or traps
It’s solid, still prefer other options to it personally though,
It carried me in the Mechdusa fight in my 1.4.5 run. Definitely worth trying, since it's easy to get!
My lifesaver in close areas like caves and dungeons. I'm terrible at aiming, so the bouncing mechanics gave me a good relief to focus on mining.
I'm currently using it now in my gun only run it was so freaking OP especially against destroyer
now we need a video re-ranking all the weapons that got changed sense you last looked at them

Just add the Rouge class already. The calamity item the rouge barrel , is literally this.
