I can see that, and even agree. I think for me, it’s a control thing. In the real world, there is so much you can’t predict or prepare for, no matter how meticulous you are, and that’s something I definitely struggle with. But in a game like Stardew, Animal Crossing, or Story of Seasons, you’re the one in charge of creating your world, you have all of the control over your crops, your friendships, how you decorate, how you spend or save your money, etc. Sure, things can go wrong, but you can control and fix that too. It’s nice to have that little bubble that may not be perfect but it’s yours, and it’s a safe haven to go to when the world around you is spiraling beyond your control.
