The Most Neglected Item In Minecraft: The Furnace Minecart

I've played Minecraft since Beta and I am a lover of all things rail and trains. I have returned to Minecraft as an adult and I am blown away at how many things have been added and how wonderful this game is with new things to explore and discover. It makes me feel like the first time I played Minecraft. I was excited to get back to rails and see all of the new powered rails, button rails, minecarts with hoppers, even a Minecart with TnT!! I can now ramp a minecart off a ledge and blow something up with TnT below. Truly amazing.

Then I crafted my favorite charming little cart, the Minecart with Furnace. It works exactly as I remember it and it gave me a rush of nostalgia. the fun of making a little train of chests to push around a mine. watching it chug along like a choo choo train. Great fun.

It's just funny to me with all of the amazing things they've added and improved on the game, and even just rail mechanics, the furnace with minecart is just about unchanged for the past 16 something years. I went on the wiki page and there's even an entry where Jeb entertained phasing them out… in 2016… ten years later and they're still here! I'm thankful for that but it goes to show they're so neglected that they even forgot to remove them!

Even just making a less buggy version of linking carts together would be a big improvement. I feel like there's a lot of fun design space for something that isn't redstone powered rails that's more automatic. Maybe if they were more fuel efficient people would like them more? Or if they had a UI for storing fuel?

Anywho. Just thought I'd share some love for this quaint little locomotive. Hopefully somebody from Minecraft HQ hears my plea and I can be the conductor of my own train in Minecraft in 2032!
