I’m gonna be honest, Melee for Eye of Cthulu with the Bat Bat is… a choice.
Almost any other class is better for boss fights until, bare minimum, Wall of Flesh, I’ll say. Maybe next time for Eye, try using a bow with frostbite arrows? It’ll make not taking damage much easier.

Anything ranged, also maybe pair a controller to your phone for the fight? It’ll def make drinking potions and switching back to weapons much easier

Throwing knives, boomerangs, magic boomerangs?

Acquire mounts you can use to attack while running and dodging on them.

u no suck terraria is that good. first time play as melee can be difficult so try range or summons perhaps.
I mean melee for eoc is certainly doable but you need a better weapon, I usually will go with the blade of grass. If you’re on 1.4.5 I’d recommend getting some roller blades and really extending your arena horizontally. Your movement and weapon are the two most important parts of boss fights. Having armor is a help but being able to dodge and quickly deal damage is key.

As a mobile player, move your buttons around so that you can use other fingers to jump and attack, like placing it somewhere else so you can use your index fingers to press the buttons instead letting you use your thumbs for just movement and aiming and whatever else

In melee class, use thorn chakram, it’s always my go to, and for accesories get hermes boots, cloud in a bottle, these 2 are must, take glass make it into bottle fil lit with water and place the water bottle on table, and craft, regen defense and swiftness potion, get ur life as high as possible by finding life crystals, and if u find extra make heart lanterns, keep ur distence and u should be fine, and aslo keep fire camps.

May I suggest getting potions for buff? It seems like you’re just winging it using campfires and ironskin potion.

I am a new player (one month so far), I’ve been playing only Master, this was my first boss too and also took me a while but I learned few things. Get the best gear you can before fighting a boss, get buffs and don’t play classes. Buffs from potions are a huge help and classes are pointless, just use whatever you can to do the most damage you can, for a while I was going around with swords and the most summons I could get because that was the best I could do with the accessories I had, now I just change stuff to best fit whatever I am doing.
I don’t remember how I beat it the first time but it was way easier than the first fight when I got destroyed by it, so all I can tell is, you are severely undergeared. Explore more. Bosses in this game are a progression gate, there’s gear before it and gear after it, even playing Master all boss fights I was ready for were easy and I am awful dodging stuff (lately most of my arenas use teleports, wires, etc).
(OBS: while writing this I remembered what helped me the most against this guy, I grinded Eaters of Souls until I got a set of Ancient Shadow Armor)

1st: This game is hard, especially on mobile. Dodging is a major part. 2nd: More max health will make it much easier. Ideally the max of 400. 3rd: You are using a very low damage, true melee weapon. A ranged or larger, higher damage weapon would help. The wand of sparking is probably better, even.

When I start a new world, as soon as I’ve got enough hearts, I look for the sky islands and try to find the “Starfury” sword. It’s one of the best until you can craft a better one.
If youre trying to get over it only by close range melee weapons, you need speed. You need a lot of speed. Or just look for the chillet egg with makes the game way more easier

I recommend getting more used to ranged weapon as of 1st playthrough to keep your distance, while true meleeing a Boss isn’t a bad choice as many people play like that and it does great damage, it’s a bit hard since you need good movement and watch your distance so you get hit less. Ranged weapons while might not hit as hard, it’s better to live and survive rather than quickly kill boss at times, after all you got whole night to do so. All Ranged weapons recommended in comments are good and definitely worth to try.

I noticed you switched to the potion in the hot bar to heal. There is a shortcut button that you can use that automatically heals, no need to swap the weapon for the potion. Also, the bat bat is bad, use a weapon with more range
