Did you know farmland has 8 levels of moistness? They all share the same texture in Vanilla
I had to make a resource pack to see them, otherwise they just look like the dry farmland. Still I have no idea why they exist if they are only used for drying farmland.

Would you be willing to upload this resource pack anywhere?
Life Hack: place a non-full block like Leaves or a top Slab in the water, that way you nor the crops can fall into it while farming
