But since then, I've stopped to think that Clint, along with Gus, are the only chubby characters (is that the right word? Sorry, English isn't my first language). All the marriage candidates are either thin or muscular, i even thought Maru might go, but I guess not?

Honestly I don’t even know if he qualifies as chubby being a blacksmith he’s probably actually pretty overall strong just a larger guy
I always see Emily as very tall. Just look how she stands “ingame” at other NPCs. Perhaps I am wrong.
i don’t imagine shane as slim. also i’d say marnie and linus may be on the chubbier side too.

Both Maru and Abigail have dialogue after marriage about “am I gaining weight?” (Maru) and “I want to lose a few pounds” (Abby). I picture Maru as somewhat bodacious (aerodynamically curvaceous, like Faye from Questionable Content), and I picture Abby with the physique of a short, brave adventurer with a big appetite whose devoted wife is always giving her lots of blackberry cobbler and spicy eel and chocolate cake and unrefined quartz 🗡️🦇👩❤️👩
It kind of makes sense that the single people would be less chubby when you think about it
I’ve always thought of both Shane and Harvey as being chubby (for Shane it’s implied with dialogue but idk about Harvey). It’s nice to have a spouse whose body type is different enough to have it be reflected in their sprite though!
you know i always thought of Shane as chubby but looking at his sprite here he looks tiny. i wonder if anybody has made a mod to change his sprite

For the marriagable gals, I always thought Abigail had curves and then would have developed muscles with the sword-wielding, and I know Emily has a flared dress but it always looked to me like she had a big bum (my beautiful wife, she makes my rockin’ world go ’round), same with Sandy, the belt especially gives hourglass figure to me. Maru’s sprite implied curves to me too, although dungarees are pretty baggy.
And for the marriagable guys, I thought Harvey because he has the microwave junk food and a little more weight on his thighs, Elliott seems like he has broad shoulders but a lil waist, but yeah, I think it’s just Clint that’s more obviously got some more weight on him than the others, although I read it as muscle under a big body and a baggy apron. I am sad that Gus and Marnie aren’t romanceable (YET!) as they seem to me to be the only truly chubby people in the town and I love a cuddly partner 😄
I feel as though a lot of people think Shane would be chubby. Especially if you take in to account the amount of alcohol he drinks. Actually a majority of the fan art I see of him has him with a bit of extra weight.

kind of drives me insane howmany characters are implied to not be skinny just for their sprite not to reflect that in the slightest. why does 95% of the cast have to be skinny and/or white?
