Having to go talk to the guide every time I need to check a recipe is almost as annoying as having to open the wiki to do the same thing, so how about:
Dropping the guide Voodoo Doll in Shimmer should give you a consumable item that when used, adds a button right below bestiary button that opens the crafting guide that's normal only viewable when talking to the guide.
(hard mode only???)

As someone who can’t live without recipe browser… I agree!!
throwing a guide doll in the shimmer summons the wall of plush. It doesn’t hurt you.
need to kill enough guides to find the Andrew guide and shimer the green cap. this can only be done in hard mode after the wof.
dude let andrew have just this one thing he has he gets like 3 interaction throughout the world and 2 of them are accidental misclicks.
itd be nice but the guide would probably be depressed
