I had the opposite problem in my first playthrough. I came from a Minecraft background so I thought you needed an axe to mine wood and was confused why it wasn’t working

That took me way too long to realize what was happening. I am doing my first “for the worthy” run, so i was stareing at the base of the tree waiting for a bomb to drop and kill them lol. I think im slightly traumatized now that i think about it…..

My BF helped me get an achievement (Grave Mistake), he was hitting slimes with his pick axe after I made him a sword.

I had a hard time trying to figure out how to use a furnace, so no need to feel too bad about it.
