Enchanting table is useless, you can just trade with villagers for all your needs

I build a standard mob grinder with a trident killer, with some room underneath. I use the bones to power a sugarcane machine. After I’ve gotten all the useful but rarer drops like carrots and potatoes, I build an item sorter under the grinder so that I only keep gunpowder, bones, and arrows. It’s essentially an infinite paper/rocket machine.

Also, in the short term, a lakeside farm is the best option (even better than a straight, single-block water canal farm, because you don’t have to dig).
In the long term, the chessboard-style farm with water in slab blocks is the best.
Redstone-powered ones aren’t really worth it, in my opinion – especially in the early to mid game.
