I usually only take the first 2-3 letters of the given name and create something new out of it. For example, if it gave me Lornel or something random like that, I would rename it to Lorenzo, Logan, or London etc.

My pigs are Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin and Bilbo. My goats are Faramir and Boromir. My Ostriches are Gandalf and Radagast. My chickens are Jinx (blue), Silco (void), Vander (golden), Ekko (brown), Jayce (white). Sheeps are Vi and Caitlyn. My dinos are Smeagol, Gollum, Vash (Trigun), Spike (Cowboy Bebop), Eren (Attack on Titan), Edward (Fullmetal Alchemist). Cows are Maomao (brown), Frieren (white). My Rabbit is Shinji, Asuka and Rei.

Chicken – “Misty” (this was the default name from the game)
Duck – “Psyduck” (to match Misty)
Void Chicken – “Ebony Darkness Dementia Raven Way” (just “Ebony Darkn” could fit on the screen lol, obviously from the infamous fanfic)
Goat – “Galinda” (Wicked, the irony bc it’s a goat)
Cow – “Moolinda” (bc I got the cow at the same time as the goat)
Dinosaur – “Littlefoot” (Land Before Time)
Pig – “Babette” (after Babe)
Pig – “Wilbur” (from Charlotte’s Web)

My current farm is named “Snowchester” and my character looks Icy. It’s new so I don’t have many animals but right now I have Milkshake, Yoohoo, Icicle, Popsicle, icee, slushee, and snowflake. This is the first time I’ve had a whole farm theme. Usually I’ll pick a theme for each animal type. So all my chickens might be named after movie characters, my cows might be named after chips, my goats named after candy, and my ducks named after dictators.
