It’d be great if it came with a cardboard box that it was delivered in and the cat only interacts with with cardboard box if you place it instead of throwing it away

The difficulty is that no NPCs really interact with objects, except animals to eat grass.
Only like, characters doing special animations on a particular location as part of their schedule (e.g. maru sitting on the bench, she doesn’t really interact with the bench she just moves to that location as part of her schedule then changes to ‘sitting pose’).
It might be a big change to actually get the cat to interact with it.

My IRL cats love their cat tree, so I was disappointed that my in-game cats can’t use theirs.
I’m also bummed that it appears that only one cat can sleep in your bed at a time, and they don’t seem to sleep on other beds. I put a single bed next to my full size bed, hoping that might fix it, but sadly, no 😞
