I've been playing Minecraft for over a decade so I've seen a lot of the new updated stuff/mobs, etc. But this isn't something I've personally encountered until now and my question is, do I even dare approach right now?

Short answer: do NOT go in there without maxed out gear, night vision potions, and several stacks of wool to make paths. If you make ANY noise, an unkillable boss mob will spawn and one shot kill you.

    Long answer: read [this article](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Ancient_City)

  2. I mean, if you not a scared easily approach it ๐Ÿ˜‚ otherwise, stay far far away for now ๐Ÿ˜‚

If you make to much noise near some of the blocks there it will spawn the warden which is basically one of the bosses (like the wither for example) and it can kill you in just like 1-3 ish hits and also do some other stuff I forgot. There should be chests to loot there tho. But I think the noise thing can be activated by doing stuff like walking and opening chests though.

Go in with like 6 stacks of wool and night vision potions, stay crouched the whole time. DO NOT bring maxed out tools and gear like netherite, itโ€™s not needed. Warden still 3 shots you. Other monsters rarely ever spawn. Place wool around the warden spawners if you see them, also around chests to reduce chance of noise being picked up. If you get the darkness effect that means a warden spawned, just run away until the effect goes away. I also like to bring ender chest and shulker boxes with me if I even think thereโ€™s a chance I might not make it out, I put my important stuff I looted in there like armor trims and notch apples. Also place a bee and set spawn just outside in case you do die

    Come down to the dark
    There’s no oone around
    An ancient city
    with riches to be found

    But don’t make a peep
And be light on your feet
’cause if you make a sound
    there’s something you’ll meet

    The warden will rise
    It has no eyes
But he can sense you in the dark
And hunt you as you hide

    Oh no, it’s too late
    You’ve sealed your fate
    It just need a whiff
And it can find you with one sniff

    You steal and you roam
    Invading its home
    Causing a commotion
    Get out of this catacomb
    Souls beat in chest
    There’s no time to rest
And you’ve been such a bad guest
    So run
    You cacaphonous pest

    Come down to the dark

If you find a swift sneak book, take some time to go enchant your pants and come back.

The deep dark would’ve been the first result even if you just Googled something like “minecraft black glittery blocks in cave” (I tested it). Not a bother, just don’t get why you’d rather wait for somebody to answer.

  8. Pro tip: that blue stuff is a really good source of XP and quite underrated.

I’ve been mining it out using a hoe whenever I need levels because I still don’t have a good way of getting XP

I started living inside it and restoring it. If you remove the shriekers you’ll be safe

  10. Ooooh boy, you’re in for a threat. If you want to explore, shift all the way and make as less noise as possible.

You can hoe up all the skulk for some good early XP, as well as some great loot from the many chests dotted about.

I find it fun to run through Ancient Cities. Just have an escape plan. The warden can not keep up with you.

Ignore most of the idiots. It’s safe as long as u sneak around and don’t break, open anything, sprint or jump.
The loot is pretty good, diamond gear, so grab a stack of wool and surround the chests before opening them to prevent alerting the shriekers.
If u do, that’s fine, u have two more chances to mess up before u have to run.
If the warden does spawn, run away, don’t stop til ur out of the area, come back later and it’ll have despawned

  14. Get. The living hell outta there. Unless you’ve probably got wool, you’re, COOKED, if you end up having a warden spawn in

  15. Raiding ancient cities with low end gear is fine, so long as you’re willing to put the time in. Crucial precursors are gathering yourself some wool blocks for bridging/blocking with, and a good hoe.

Most important part is to always have a clear escape route.

Break sensors and shriekers as you go, and always be aware of your quickest route to safety – i.e. sufficient blocks away from the warden to not aggro it.

Wardens are not immediately hostile to you when they spawn, but the more they hear and smell you, the more they’ll home in on you and angrier they’ll get.

HOWEVER, if you scram out of detection range while it’s still spawning, he won’t even have a clue you were ever there, and one minute later, splurge himself back into the sculk.

At that point, creep back to where you were and break the shrieker that triggered him. Sometimes this might be multiple shriekers, or sneaky ones hidden out of sight, but as long each time you trigger a spawn you’re a good 30 blocks away before the wardens fully emerged, they’ll never properly aggro on you and always disappear after a minute.
