It just makes sense , the villagers would want to help the player to be able to beat the raid.
'Hero of the Village' applies to all villagers and all their trades , this should be exclusive to armor and weapon trades.
You would imagine that weaponsmiths and Armorsmiths are the most important villagers during an attack , and this would kinda work towards that. Maybe they don't run away and hide in a house and stay somewhere accessible to the player or maybe just outside their work house.
This is just a small thing which would make the world feel alive you know

I like it. What if even the farmer was involved? If you go near him during a raid and have low health, he could drop bread , that would make another cool detail

If my village is getting raided and the guy “saving” us is asking for anything he can have it for free on the house a dead body has no use for emeralds
Same as how the Toads get their princess kidnapped but still charge Mario for the stuff he needs to go rescue her.
