If we have an open-source Minecraft, why can't we have an open-source Terraria? Even if it were simple… I'd love to be able to play Terraria on my ThinkPad T400 with Debian Linux. It could be a project where the game looks similar to Terraria version 1.2, and I would play it.

Unfortunately, I don't know how to program yet, but I wanted to make an open-source Terraria game on Godot.

I also think it would be cool if this open-source Terraria was made to commemorate something, just like the creators of Celeste They made an open-source version of their game called Celeste 64.

I think an open-source Terraria would also be a great way to test some new mechanics and items for the original Terraria.

  1. I tried playing Terraria 1.2 on my T400 through Steam but I couldn’t; it said it was only for Windows, and I use Linux (more specifically Debian 12 with Fluxbox).
