I cannot be the only one experiencing this, I have over 200 hours on this game and I don’t remember experiencing this in my other saves. I have caught 17 rainbow trout, collected every treasure chest and I only got TWO TAGS??
Is this a glitch? Or was the difficulty changed? This is also on a good luck day.
I’m honestly just kinda salty about this but I feel like it isn’t normal, i remember when I first started playing that trout just had the tags when you caught them even if there wasn’t a chest to collect. But I could be wrong, anyway this is more of a rant but if anyone has insight or advice I would love to hear it!

I’d be so pissed like the squid thing is more reasonable
Well, each trout caught only has 33% chance of giving the tag, so it’s not that far off. But I suggest getting the bait maker and using the dressed spinner tackle (carry like 3 or 4). You catch way more trout and consequently more tags (like 10 to 20 per day).
At least the tags stay for the next year, unlike Calico Eggs.
the drop rate should be higher tho, that’s not usual for me either. (I get 5-11 across both days total, assuming I do nothing BUT fish. 6 am-2 am daily.)
After getting the recipe for challenge bait I used that to get three trout on every catch. Got a tag on every catch of three trout.

Use challenge bait! You’ll catch a tag every time (provided you keep the bar on the fish the whole time). Rainbow trout are pretty easy, so if you have fishing buffs/are leveled up it should be pretty consistent.
