So umm can anyone explain why half of my npc died after summoning the wall of flesh. I knew only the guide dies summoning the wall or am I missing something ( this is my first playthrough ever)

Guide voodoo dolls stack, the more you toss in lava the more npcs die with the guide
If you throw more dolls more NPCs die
