For me, I’d pick the Mega Bombs. The golden boxes are interesting, but I’ve never gotten anything great from them and am currently mad at that fact.

I’ve not looked at the code for this – does any one know if golden mystery boxes (or frankly anything that Clint can process) is assigned contents at the time you mine them or at the time you process them? I’m curious if getting them on a lucky day is different than processing them on a lucky day

I’d choose the golden mystery boxes. I get tons of mega b9mbs, but I only get 1-2 golden mystery boxes a year. But if you had them on you, I’m assuming somehow you got 5 in one run…

Hmm… how long have you been accumulating those mystery boxes? I’d pick those if I’ve been hoarding for a while, but even at 5 it would be hard to let those bombs go. If you can get them easily or don’t really care, pick the bombs. Stones IMO are the easiest to re-accumulate

I dont even crack mystery boxes / GMG anymore. Its almost always crappy decor / dress items that I could not give 2 shits about.

In my most recent play-through, I made a habit of never having my full stack of $THINGS with me. I’d top-up to 75 mega bombs / 15 goat cheese to keep in my inventory, while my main “store” for such was a “mining chest” in my house. This is a habit I’ll probably keep in future play-throughs so such valuable assets aren’t at risk.
