I was at the travelling cart today and I noticed this. I’ve never noticed this message before. Is there Gotoro lore?

  1. “Gotoro is south of the Gem Sea”, does that make Ginger Island neutral territory lmao

I feel like it’s going to tie into Haunted Chocolatier somehow, like we’ll get the rest of the lore in that game. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

  3. Apparently the enemy of the Ferngill Republic, where Stardew Valley is located. There’s tiny bits of lore that suggest the nations may be at war, but little else is said of either.

the gotoro empire is at war with the ferngill republic, which is where the valley is. as someone else said, kent is stationed overseas fighting there until he comes back in year 2. sam mentions the gotoro empire a few times in dialogue but it doesnt give much information besides “gotoro empire bad”

  5. As i remember Gotoro Empire is really good at art. Also they are in war with the country that pelican town is

  6. Would be a really cool piece of lore if Haunted Chocolatier takes place in the Gotoro Empire

  7. SVE gives a little more development to the war in gotorro, particularly with Olivia’s character of you have the ability/desire to get into mods.

  8. Sam has a rather horrific line about how he doubts whether his dad will ever come back from the war because there are thousands of their own soldiers dying every day. If he’s not basing this off of hearsay or misinformation, the conflict appears to be very bloody.
