Which would be better for this ancient seed?

  1. I use speed grow, turning it into wine anyway so the fruit quality doesn’t matter as much.

  2. FYI: the fertilizer will only affect the initial growth and the first fruit. It does not speed up all the subsequent fruits on the same vine.

That’s my understanding, at least. I’m sure someone will chime in if I’ve got it wrong, but I think that’s how it works. I used to religiously put down the best fertilizer I could, but I don’t think I was ever actually making a difference long-term.

The one fertilizer that does make a difference is the one that constantly keeps the soil wet as long as it was wet the day before. I think you get it on the island, but I haven’t encountered it yet so I’m not 100% sure. My understanding is that you can use it in the greenhouse to make it so you never have to water, which means you don’t have to use sprinklers and can squeeze a few extra plants in.

  3. Quality is useless if you plan to process the fruit into something (like wine).

DSG will cut off a week of initial growth time, but doesn’t speed up the regrow time.

If it’s your first ancient seed and you have a seed maker and want more seeds, quality does not matter. Use the best speed grow you can get

Isn’t the water retaining the best so you can have no sprinklers and have it grow 24/7 either greenhouse or island style

If this is your first ancient seed, speed gro is best so you can get fruit sooner and make it into more seeds and propogate your plants faster. If you’re planting a whole field, then deluxe retaining soil is best, especially if you’re planting on Ginger Island or in the Greenhouse, since you can squeeze out a few more spaces to plant your crops.

  7. Speed gro(it onlly affects growth and first harbest), the earlier you cam get your first harvest means the next one will be arriving sooner than non speed gro plots.

If you have have few if any, Speed-Gro. If you have a bunch but aren’t processing them yet, quality fertilizer. If you’re in the end game, maximizing your profits and processing everything, deluxe retaining soil (so you can fit more in your layout)

  9. If you’re going to process your ancient fruit at all, Quality Fertilizer is worthless, though if you plan to sell the excess, it might be a nice little boost to sell gold quality (though I reccomend you just keep it for the dehydrator at that point.)

Speed Gro is good because you can start harvesting and turning fruit into more seeds sooner. That can make a huge difference down the line, though it doesn’t help once you’re established.

Deluxe Water Retaining Fertilizer is the best because you will never water again and can fill the entire area for max profit and total freedom of movement. The only drawback is if you use it on your farm and not the greenhouse or ginger island, it won’t stay forever and it’s kind of a lot of resources if you’re not used to it.

I can’t believe no one’s said anything about the amount of effort you put into this. Absolutely immaculate setup & content hehe
