How To Beat Daytime EoL EVERY TIME

If you fight the Empress of Light during the day, she’s arguably the hardest boss in the Terraria. However, if you know EXACTLY how to perform the fight, beating Daytime EoL can actually be quite simple. I wanted to see if I could create a precise step-by-step process that can beat this boss every time, and this is what I came up with!

  1. Could you get similar results by not specifically hovering or does that not generate enough speed. I have both jump and up bound to w and it makes it a lot harder for me to use the hover.

  2. looking in the comments im very surprised people even bother with daytime empress right before moonlord, especially since terraprisma's worse than stardust dragon anyway. i thought people did it post-plantera

  3. Use witches broom and no platforms needed, and also more accessory slots for more damage. Kaleidoscope whip, UFO summon, no need for pillar weapons. Broom gives enough speed mobility and you don't need much acceleration. Basically the idea is always dodging perpendicular to her attacks, no panic random movement. For most time just keep flying one direction, when any attack homes on you – go up, when it's a series of attacks – the perpendicular rule. But better watch a tutorial, it's hard to explain in words. This one works too, but honestly the platform stuff with changing direction sounds a bit complicated

  4. For pre-golem gear here are my recommendations.

Weapons: Desert Tiger Staff (or Sanguine if you don't have key) + Morning Star or Kaleidoscope

    Armor: Spooky Armor (+4 minions)
Accessories: Necromantic Scroll, Papyrus Scarab, Pygmy Necklace, Hercules Beetle, Avenger Emblem, Summoner Emblem, Fire Gauntlet. (+3 more minions)

Buffs: Bewitching Table and Summoning Potion (+2 minions)

Mount (MUST HAVE): Witch Broomstick + knowledge of how to dodge her attacks. Arena is not necessary.

If you're reading this though, I guess you probably know how to beat her with this set-up. I will say though for those who don't, you'll get Terraprisma for much longer than just killing Moon Lord by doing this.

  5. since i play a LOT of mmo's and raid bosses in games like lost ark i never understood why people struggled so much with the empress, but i get its a rather nieche skill to have.

  6. I waited to do daytime EOL until I beat moonlord & farmed for the rod of discord, changed it to the rod of harmony & set up a platform essentially halfway across the map, summoned my stardust dragon & 5 cells from the cell staff, shot 1000 flares after summoning my dudes & when I summoned her, I made sure my screen was zoomed out essentially as far as it would go, and then as soon as she spawned in, I started TP-ing around to dodge her attacks but let my summons stay around her long enough to damage her. Did it in classic, did it in expert & then master one after another bc of how well it worked lol. Ofc I buffed up hella too but that’s what I did, I don’t recommend for people to wait that long but if you want too it’s worth it

  7. Finally an actual guide and not a cheese setup! This is what terraria community needs

However, I prefer and recommend to use the souring insignia and master ninja gear for movements and not rely on arena it will make the fight way more fun and reactive and you have no limit of mobility

  8. well it's not really a challenge at all if you just wait for when you have post-cultist gear to fight her. the fun in daytime empress comes from overcoming a challenge at the point of the game you're meant to fight her

  9. I usually just.. idk.. use a basic summoner set up (post plantera stuff)… Hollowed armor (even though the passive doesn't work), and keep trying untill i win… I MIGHT be dumb, but it's rather fun.

  10. You can do it with New Chloro set + Sharknado if you're skilled enough.

Sharknado has a great dps against her because she most of the times stays still for a couple seconds.

  11. i would definitely recommend the brain of confusion and/or master ninja gear. The dodges give you a bit more leeway for mistakes. Not sure if this is still how it owrks, but iirc summons will get your damage buffs at the time of summoning, so if you summon them and then switch out the celestial shell and hercules beetle you shouldnt lose much damage.
