You’re using the bulb wrong. A bulb has 4 states. On/off and powered/unpowered. When a hive is full it powers the bulb which sends an update to the observer but then the hive is emptied which unpowers the bulb which sends another update to the observer. You want to move the bulb back 1 block and place a comparator in between it and the observer so only the on/off is seen
