Working on my storage system, how can I improve this?
It seems to be working, but not sure if I'll end up with crazy lag or something. There is probably a better layout that wouldn't require such a huge dropper elevator at the back but struggled to figure it out.
If your going to make a full scale system like this, and lag is a concern, I would highly recommend switching from a hopper feed, to a water stream for your main sorting line. The most obvious reason is waaaay less hoppers which helps with lag. But water streams are incredibly superior to hopper feeds in every way. #1 being it allows you to sort in parallel because items dont back up when the lead item finds its slice like a hopper line. Other items just flow right by until they find their slice.
You can ditch the dropper tower conpletely by putting your shulker chest at floor level and loose items in the upper chest. This is common practice.
