I don’t see much of a use for the cube myself, but the new blocks do look pretty good.

Man just as I was getting excited the little side bar came up with the full feature list and I forgot for a minute how small these are
Like the cubes are pretty interesting and the blocks look nice but… hard to feel hyped I guess

The cubes are going to be awesome for all kinds of minigames and multiplayer fun.

They really like using mayhem/chaos for update names huh.

mojang really addicted to adding useless mobs for the sake of “quantity” instead of “quality”… they really think if they “make the mob look cute” we won’t care.

Either way I do like the new block sets! …and question the sulfer cubes function… at least its unique

As someone who plays with mods a lot I’m pretty glad sulfur’s an official part of the game now. There’s a lot of mods out there with their own variation on sulfur that conflict so hopefully now there’ll be less of an issue with it.

I really hate the Legion of Mojang Complainers as I understand that the development/design team is bound by the restrictions of having to maintain and update one of the best-selling games of all-time for Microslop, but stuff like this makes it very difficult to enjoy or even look forward to new content.
I’m hoping that there’s going to be further reveals for this drop, because two new building blocks and a new mob variant is a little underwhelming. The physics of the new mob are pretty interesting, sure, and I’m sure they’ll be fun for the portion of the community that regularly plays minigames, but I came out of that live very happy that I didn’t get too excited beforehand.

The cinnabar looks like it will fit great with netherrack/mangrove texturing, and I’m interested to see what people think up for the sulfur blocks.
I can’t help feeling that we’re getting more red and yellow blocks while green/blue/purple sit in the corner crying lol.

Love the idea that Mojang decides drop concepts by throwing a dart at the periodic table.
Personally I don’t have any ideas for these features. We already have a lot of options for red and yellow block palettes so I don’t think the decorative things are very needed. I think we’re in more need of pastels and darker blues/purples than the very bold primary colors we keep getting (same issue with resin).
Also like the idea of a new cave biome. Though I don’t see how the nauxious fumes are “dangerous” if there’s not any hostile mob to take advantage of the naseau? Would be cool to see that ecosystem expanded on.
The sulfur cube is really cool. People have been finding workarounds for the lack of balls in minigames for forever so it’ll be cool to see what people come up with now that there’s a more dedicated minigame feature. That said, I don’t think I’ll go out of my way to get them because I mostly play single player.
Hopefully there’s an easier way to transport them than just bouncing them though, because it’ll be a pain to transport them from the new sulfur biome to people’s existing minigame districts. Maybe you could bucket the baby versions? Also would be cool if they had more cosmetic variations. Making them dyable would be really useful for team games.

It’s pretty crazy that they added an entire biome dedicated to sulfur, one of the key ingredients in gunpowder, and didn’t implement any way to use it relating to TNT or fireworks.

Cinnabar and sulfur? Minecraft is slowly on its trajectory to becoming FTB

I don’t mind small updates if it leads to big updates eventually. I thought “eventually” would have arrived by now, but whatever.
The Caves are so lacking in biomes compared to the overworld surface that I’m happy to see a new cave biome. Although one more biome is nice, the underground still doesn’t compete with the overworld surface. The number of cave biomes should be tripled or quadrupled. Maybe this update is a small step towards that.
New block sets look good.
When I first saw the water, I was maybe thinking we’d get a new liquid for the first time in [16 years and 10 months](https://minecraft.wiki/w/Java_Edition_Classic_0.0.12a), but when it was just sickening water, I was just like, “Oh ok”.
I’d like to play with the mob before I decide how I feel about it. It’s better than parrots, llamas, pandas, polar bears or bats for sure. I have previously thought there should be kind of “ball” object for minigames before, and giving it blocks to determine its physics is fun. Seems like it could be fun.
I guess the only negative thing I feel is how small the update feels. After so many small updates, I’m ready for something more substantial.

A new cave biome with admittedly nice red and yellow stone / brick sets, water that makes you nauseous, and bouncy slimes.
Meh. Putting aside how small the amount of content is, as drops are, the new block sets are nice, but having to find yet another new biome to get them is going to be a pain.
The new slimes are also pretty neat and more creative than I was expecting from a new slime, but it’s not particularly worth bothering with. People have already used other mobs for pretty much the same purpose before, so outside of having it casually available in survival for a few minutes of fun, they don’t have much use. They do seem passive though, so I guess they could make for a pet, though that too can already be fulfilled by tiny Slimes.
