First thing is to Not stress with the community bundles. You will get there soon enough. Sprinklers are amazing, but skip the first ones and go straight to quality ones. Besides that, have fun. If you miss something in a season, dont worry. You can do it next year.

If you name your cat [645] you get a free iridium sprinkler. It’s a little cheaty but watering gets old…Other than that best advice I’ve read is don’t go to bed early just because you’re out of energy.

Don’t tend crops with a pickaxe or axe in your hand. Other than that explore the world and discover the mysteries of stardew valley and remember there is no wrong way to play.
Have fun.

saving at least one or two of any given item you get is very helpful, especially early on. other than that, have fun!

Good luck and be ready to spend copious amount of hours on this game. Hours pass in the blink of an eye and not worry about it. It’s more addictive than coffee (well that my vice but your might be different)

You have to spend the 1st 2 days clearing your farm. More if you want to destroy all the trees. It may be good to save a few trees for now… then later you can cut down

Yeah I’m on year 2 fall and if a started again I would grind in the mines before doing anything else to get those sprinklers watering takes up soo much time

Don’t be ashamed/afraid to put some mods in – my favourite is UI Info Suite 2 (ultimate helper which should be part of original game imo), Easier Fishing, Automatic Gates and Lookup Everything (press F1 to see info about everything).
Good luck 🙂

Read your letters and tooltips and listen to the dialogue. Explore and try things out. Watch TV every morning, especially on Mon and Thu when *Livin’ Off The Land* airs. Strike those weird wriggly things on the ground with your hoe. When you find Lost Books, they will be added to the Library – go check out the bookshelves too!
Water the crops every day to keep them growing. They won’t die from drought but they will stagnate if you forget to water them.
I think those should help you get started.
Welcome to the magical experience, have fun, try not to stress as there is really no rush.
And when you eventually want to upgrade your tools, the upgraded watering can and hoe will receive new charging abilities, which will make your life easier. This isn’t told anywhere in-game which is dumb, so I gave an extra mention about it.

If you break a weed and you get a hat out of it DONT TRASH THE HAT! I promise you won’t be lucky enough to find another. (I may have trashed said item for inventory space on my first playthrough and I have yet to get another.)

Take your time! There is literally nothing in this game that can’t be done again at a later time. Chill and do what feels right, and have a blast!

Read your mail, listen to what the villagers tell you in cut scenes, and watch Living Off the Land on your TV! A ton of questions in this sub come from folks who missed important info that the game tried really hard to tell you (like a letter from Evelyn you’ll get in a few weeks in your mailbox reminding you that your spring crops will die when the season changes to summer after Day 28).
Otherwise: make friends with the villagers, upgrade your tools and backpack once you’re able, and absolutely do not base your progress on YouTube videos made by players with a thousand hours in the game.

Welcome to the valley, keep an eye on your energy bar. In spring head south out your farm and cross the river, while you can forage food/bundle items all over the valley in spring it grows random amounts of spring onions which you can use as food to slowly increase your energy.
Have fun, I’m on my second version/switched from PS4 to Nintendo switch as it’s a low battery consumption game, perfect for when I’m at dialysis to fill I ln my time there.

I started playing a month ago, I have reached 10 million gold earned and must say it’s an amazing game but I do kind of regret tryharding the game so fast and not figuring things out on my own, it’s easy to feel pressured to make fast progress. My first play through should have been at my own pace

Go into settings and select advanced crafting. It allows you to see how many items you can make with the materials in your inventory.
