I’ve been playing this game for probably about 9 years now and just realized I never build a well? does anyone else do this? What is free bro why would I waste my rocks and gold?

Some farms don’t have a water source close to the house. I suspect it’s for people that want water next to their crops.

I never buy a well either. Seems wasteful when there’s so many water sources available.

I always put my first garden near a pond or river for this exact reason. I also stopped getting the mill.

I mean it can save a very marginal amount of time as opposed to walking to a pond for water 🤷 but i suspect a lotta folks just use it for its aesthetic value as opposed to practical

I’ve never ever built a well. Now I feel like I should but one in the middle of a fairy rose garden and pretend it’s a wishing well.

Some farms need a well. It’s completely farm type dependent. Obviously River Farm doesn’t need a well. But Beach Farm’s fresh water source is inconvenient iirc (need to see layouts)

My first farm had water at the opposite corner of my house, this was when I had the game on disco for xbone, I was playing launch version no updates offline and loved it but the well was absolutely amazing until I got a kitchen then I never used it again, but it looked nice.

On my first playthrough I though this was a quest so I built a well and then I didnt get any reward and I’ve never built another one.

By the time I feel like shelling out for a well, I’ve usually already installed sprinklers. 🤷🏼♀️ I’ve added them later for looks, though.
