Blacksmithing is a very attractive thing to me, I don’t know why, so initially I was disappointed when Clint couldn’t be romanced, then I got to know him, and I understood why he has the reputation that he has.
You are right in the way that Clint’s similar to Harvey and Shane, but I also see some Abigail there as well. I expect that, if Clint marries the player and they’re at low hearts with him, he’ll mention Emily and/or Sandy the same way Abigail talks about Sebastian when they are at low hearts with her.
I do hope these new heart events for Clint in the new update will do him justice. I am planning on romancing him out of curiosity for how it will go.
bro, he was not stalking, she just was about to ask her out, saw she was talking with another person, got super anxious after all he was plaining on talking with emily but then caroline appered, and if he already was too anxious to call for amily, obviously he would not be capable with another person close to her hearning him too, or feel comfortable to interruct a conversation since he is so neorutical about making the perfect invitating

Look, my issue with Clint is he sucks at literally everything. Taking the relationship stuff out, this man is NEVER open when i need him to be. He's on the far side of town so I have to walk far as hell to get here(until you get mine carts), and then his hours are weird like he always closes at 4pm…..4 PM. Then when I try to talk to him it just pisses me off bc all this dude talks about is Emily this and Emily that and he's always moping around about how sad and lonely he is and Im just like dude get over yourself. Then if you complete the community center, he clsoes his shop on Fridays and just STANDS IN A USELESS BUILDING all day. MF I have geodes that need crackin

I never thought he was a stalker, he’s very socially anxious, it makes sense to me that he’d fuck up a social thing, then freak out about how to get out of said situation. You know, like jumping into a bush because he got scared to have a conversation that he 100% agonized over all night. He was waiting to get out of the bush BECAUSE OF HOW IT LOOKS, GETTING OUT OF A BUSH IS WEIRD. And the longer he agonizes over getting out of the bush the worse it will seem.
I am not a socially anxious person, so to me it would be a funny thing I’d never let myself live down, as a joke and an easy in to a conversation. However both my sister and one of my closest friends are so insanely socially anxious it defies all logic. Babe, the bus driver doesn’t hate you cuz you need to count your change, sit up front and ask for a sec, he’ll let the people behind you on and then you can pay. No actually drinking water from a water bottle doesn’t look weird or bad or whatever at all funeral. No one is even looking at you. My god, I have had to learn patience beyond the edges of the universe just to do anything with either of them.
Still love them tho, just like I think people should love Clint.

I have always maintained that Clint doesn't have the ego to be a true incel. His self-image and self-esteem are too low. Incels are, however baselessly, supremely confident. Obnoxiously so. Clint is a schlub and he's aware of it.

Clint clearly has mental health issues. And one look at how humans have historically treated those with mental health issues will tell you all you need to know.
Girl I never had any malice towards him, he reminds me of my irl husband. Shy, bearded, burley and adorable and a man with his own business. I DO HOWEVER have A LOT of malice towards the unemployed town drunkard drop-kick, living with his mommy, Shawn. Its DISGUSTING how many women like him, like pick yourself up off the floor, the bar is in hell.
Clint also never really got any changes when Emily was made available to be a romance option. Her and Shane weren't originally meant to be those, it's just what the community voted on, and none of Clint's dialogues or events were altered though to reflect that. So yeah, dude is extra awkward when you marry Emily because he simply never got an update himself to account for that lol. I'm honestly excited to see where CA takes Clint's character and story!
I am personally socially anxious, so I see myself in Clint. I also have a feeling that he was written to put a lot of pressure in himself. I mean…he is the town blacksmith, a role passed down through generations. If he does not have a child, or at least an apprentice, there is no one to takeover him. He took over as blacksmith despite not initially wanting the profession, so he probably feels a sense of duty to Pelican Town, which I think is further supported by his comments during the green rain when he is in the saloon.
I'm sick of no one ever considering Clint is bad bc of a development oversight, Emily is not going to be a marriageable in the first place, so when she is turned into one and Clint stays the same, is that really his fault that his character is around Emily?
I don't know why he and Willy don't spend time together. Both older, quiet, kind of outcast working people. I think the one big difference is that Willy gas clearly traveled and seen and experienced more, he's quite wise where Clint really isn't. But all in all I think they'd like each other's company.
He's not a bad dude, just awkward and sad. Its not like hes one of those Nice Guys that harass women for not liking him.
