I started a new game and didn't fish at all during Spring. On the first day of Summer, Willy showed up and gave me some fishing tips and the training rod for free!

Okay, but how much money did you lose out on by not fishing all spring?
Ha, this happened to me in my very first game because I couldn’t (and still can’t) figure out the fishing game…
And you get fishing level 1! It’s neat!
This cutscene was a massive help when I was playing my “No Tools” challenge. Not for the rod (no tools, after all), but for the free fishing level.
Does he not send you a letter saying “come find me, lad” and then when you do he hands you the rod?
