Help. Why do my plants and sprinklers keep getting destroyed.
I'm on switch and I occasionally hop back over to Ginger Island every week-ish to check on my ancient fruit and two of them had been destroyed and now one of the sprinklers is gone
It’s possible it’s weeds, they tend to grow pretty rampant on the ginger island farm. I make an effort of making sure there’s no open spaces weeds can grow (tillable tiles) that I’m not using by covering them with flooring. Weeds will spread through flooring and destroy it, but they won’t spawn directly on it when being created from nothing. If you don’t want to do that for all the tiles, I would at the very least make a 2 or 3 thick border around your plants to stall them so they don’t spawn on the edges and spread in immediately. This includes the 8 tiles around your scarecrows.

Were there weeds involved? The ginger island weeds are much more aggressive than on the home farm. It’s often a good idea to build a walkway around the crop field just to give you a buffer in between the weeds. Weeds can even form in that space around your scarecrows.
Scarecrows are not necessary on ginger island. Crows don’t destroy crops there.

Judging by the Fiber you picked up showing in the lower left corner of the image, weeds spread on your Ginger Island farm and took out the crop and the sprinkler.

I would recommend a fence around your growing area on Ginger Island. I’ve done it for years in many saves and it works well. If anything I need to come out and clear weeds just for mango and banana trees. I recommend hardwood fence if using the vanilla game
You don’t need to worry about crows on the island either

Weeds spawn every Monday on Ginger Island, so be sure to make a weekly trip to cut the weeds, otherwise they will take out crops and flooring.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the weeds that caused it, after I built a fence around my crops they stopped getting destroyed. Also you don’t need scarecrows on the island!

My god, reading the comments, I had no clue that weeds on the ginger island can take out actual sprinklers!! I HATE WEEDS. me and my homies all hate weeds

I don’t bother with paths or fences or anything and just replace and replant as necessary.
