congratulations on beating the “good update that gives players new content instead of another hidden bugfix”

you got the good ending, where you realized that you would rather get a worse version of shaders than have new features

Is this a reference to anything recent, or am I overthinking it? Because this is very reminiscent of TADC’s recent episode 8 intro. If so, then legacy would be buggy and corrupted, good update design would be forcing the bad version to work with the good version, and Mojang is instead isolating the flaws and making a good, properly working model.

I super think the issue with Minecraft updates is they are super disconnected from each other and the game as a whole, then never touched again. Like they added the sniffer and it’s still super useless with a mechanic that hasn’t been touched

  4. It’s nice playing modded on 1.20.1 and not having to care about whatever is going on with the latest release.

  5. Can we just change the sub name. Be so for real, memes complaining about update quality or quantity are so loweffort

Minecraft is a finished game but Microsoft put to much money into it to justify ending updates so we are left in this weird limbo where Mojang wants to add new stuff but they also want to keep Minecraft base game the same. In my opinion it looks like they are trying to build Minecraft 2 on top of Minecraft one because they don’t want to make Minecraft 2 for some reason. but because these are updates on top of a already finished game they don’t want to add anything that will change how you play it too much. So we are left with a bunch of ideas stitched into a game that has been finished for 10 years
