Note though: If playing on console, the corner kegs won’t get filled unless you manually click on them with the free cursor. It’s just weird like that, so finding a set up without those corner Kegs may be more advantageous (and less resources spent building excess kegs)

No. The most efficient can be found on the wiki.
Why does the colours look like a flashbang.
Move everything down one row and you’ll fit an extra row in at the top 🙂
Move the entire thing down one space so u can have an entire row at the top
How many are there?
This is my favorite, a balance between quantity and ease of filling:

Scoot everything one row lower and you’ll get one more row in the back.
Me with the automate mod, 1 chest and a room filled with kegs and no empty space

So how to you plan on using the ones you don’t have access to? I highlighted them. I did that same layout you did and was unable to use them.

So I downloaded a mod to automatically add and collect.

This (taken from the Stardew wiki) is the most optimal layout for Kegs in a Shed. (137 kegs)
[There is also this one if you prefer to make it a one trip shop](https://www.reddit.com/r/StardewValley/comments/1qf2tdo/keg_setup/)
