It’s a little offensive nowadays, due to the stereotypes the skin ends up with.
Stereotypes around black people, specifically African Americans are:
-That they love wearing big chains (typically gold),
-That they beat their wives (those who do wear a white tank top and jeans in a lot of media as it feels trashy)
-That Black people are all “better athletes”.
All those combined with the fact it’s the only black skin tone change for steve doesnt help
