I’ve done the same on an iOS save file before too, you just have to have a way to edit it or move it back and forth from the iOS device. I imagine android will have a similar save file.
If you’re on Switch then you’re probably stuck.

I clicked through the prompts too quickly when I got my cat and was so upset that I didn’t get to name it.
At this point, however, I couldn’t imagine Dudley having a different name.

A shrine of name-changing would be awesome for the pets and kids. The farm animals can be changed easily, but not pets and kids.
