This is the first time I reached the second phase, after creating this mess of a circuit, but I am still taking too many hits to tank through the entire thing. What do I do?

Its reccomend you beat him post mech bosses and maybe plantera. Duke is a very hard and fast boss your going to need asphalt (sold by steam punk via blend o matic) and spaced out platforms.

    From their its just skill.

you are rather early for that boss 😀

if you really wanna go for it, widen the rectangle of your tps, that lengthens the distance he has to travel to reach you. i would at least go for “screen-wide”.

    good luck 🙂

The teleporting thing is gimmicky and can work if you make the arena much bigger and extend it out. Though normally you want good vertical movement and a dash using a simple arena over the ocean. First and second phase keep your distance and lead him in big circles. The tornado balls are homing and will hit you but do no damage so try and lead them to the side of the arena where the tornado won’t be in the way.

Third phase, is where a dash is really helpful but not necessarily needed. Duke will go invisible, teleport to you, and then dash at you 1 time, then 2 times, and then 3 times. He will repeat that pattern until death

  4. Solar Flare is gonna be doing the most damage for you, however I find the most success with a Terrablade because it destroys the bubbles quickly. However, you need Potions (all of them, Iron Skin, Regen, Endurance, Wrath, and any others you think will be useful) go into the dungeon, find an Alchemy Table and dip it in your Shimmer for the upgrade.

I have never used teleporters in my arena, my suggestion is just make your arena larger so you can have a better chance of avoiding attacks.

Then, find a Bewitching Table for the extra Minion, and fight a wave of the Old Ones Army for a War Table. Then you’re gonna want a strong Sentry. That’s just for extra damage this is the most optional part, but it will help.

Also maybe place your teleporters on platforms, I think that might help avoid the water tornadoes a little bit.

For detailed fight oatterns, see below:

Duke fishron is easiest fought with the vampire knives (from the crimson dungeon chest post-plantera), to try and out-heal any damage you get.

I think part of the issue with your current setup is that the tornadoes will spawn on one or two of your teleporters, causing you to teleport into them and take unnecessary damage.

When I fight the Duke, i build 5 to 8 long platforms stacked above the ocean, favoring large vertical gaps between the platforms because your ability to move up and down is more important than side to side in this fight.

    PHASE 1:

Duke is relatively slower here, the strategy is to maneuver up and down your arena to dodge his dashes, making sure to zig zag from one side of your arena to the other. This helps you avoid his tornadoes and create distance to prepare for his dashes. Use the homing hatchet if you can’t see him and vampire knives if you need to heal, but the solar throwing weapon (forget the name) will do most of the damage if you can hit him.

    PHASE 2:

Duke gets faster and more aggressive here, your best friend is the vampire knives because there is no time limit to the fight, and you can out-heal his damage. Of note, Duke does not instantly spawn his tornadoes, instead he will shoot out a spinning blue circle thing that will track and Always hits you. This does not do damage, but it means that he always spawns his tornadoes On Top Of You. Because of this, positioning is important in phase 2. If you’re moving around, you need to keep in mind where he spawned the tornado and avoid that. In the same vein, when you see him shoot the tracking projectile to spawn the tornado, it’s helpful to try and position yourself in one of the corners of your arena At The Bottom of your arena so the tornado is out of the way and you do not spawn a tornado that you cannot fly over. Run fast, be patient, and play the long game.

    PHASE 3:

Arguably the hardest, but not impossible, because this phase the Duke only uses One move and it’s very easy to predict which direction he will rush you from once you get a little practice. The key is, the Duke will hide from you and will ALWAYS appear in the direction you are moving. So, if he disappears and you start running right, he will spawn on your right and dash at you from the right. This means, once you see him disappear, you can move in one direction and you know which way he will come from. This makes it easier to dodge, but he is still fast and you still have to keep an eye on tornadoes.

    Conclusion:

If you can’t tell, the Duke Fishron is one of my favorite boss fights in the game, I love this challenge. He is hard, but certainly doable with post-plantera gear. He takes practice, so make sure to buff up and keep at it!

  6. Maybe build an actual arena and learn to dodge him properly instead of whatever this is brochacho 😔

Also your accessory loadout is HORRIBLE

If you’re still using this teleporter setup, add honey placed in bubbles from party girl for extra regen

duke is a tough boss probably the 2nd or 3rd hardest in vanilla depending on who you ask.

this might be a bit of a harsh recommendation but ditch the teleporters and all the “cheese” methods you see online and just learn the boss, it will take time but eventually you will beat the fight having learned it and you will feel very satisfied.
