It would be great to have an option that hides the shield while walking normally and makes it appear on the screen when we bend down to use it. That’s because I play on my phone, and the shield takes up too much space on the screen while I’m wandering the world. I also don’t want to have to keep equipping and unequipping it because it takes up extra space in my inventory.

Everyone hating on Bedrock in the comments is being immature, you don’t have to like the version, but like it or not Bedrock Edition is still Minecraft

  2. Doesn’t the shield on bedrock block way more things compared to java though?

If it really bothers you then get totems and equip those instead

  3. It should be turned 90° when you aren’t using it and when you block you turn it in front of you

There used to be a bug on Bedrock that made your shield way lower on your screen than it should be… Good times.

I play on a small iphone quite often. I am actually curious how this affects people, i can see clearly and the shield never blocks anything. Hell my fiancé refuses to use one when we play on console using a pretty large tv. How does the shield take up that much space for you guys??

I’ve seen and heard more complaints about shields taking up too much screenspace when *raised* than about when it’s *lowered*, but I’m also not so sure about making the shield fully invisible. Maybe Mojang can add a slider to the settings menu (both on Bedrock and Java) to change the shield opacity? Actually I’m going over to r/minecraftsuggestions to make that a post, and I’ll credit you!

I don’t like how you gotta crouch on bedrock. I have a computer and I play bedrock on it just cuz I’ve moved from console to computer and I’m just used to it and cuz all my friends play on consoles but I have played Java and I like the mechanics in that game a LOT better
