So I have this meteor on my farm, and I just learnt that they have a 25% chance of dropping a prismatic shard when broken.
So can I break it, and if it doesn't drop one, restart the day and sleep, THEN break it. Eventually getting a prismatic shard?

I’m pretty sure the contents of the meteor are already determined specifically to prevent that kind of cheesing of the system, similar to how restarting the day doesn’t allow you to get different qualities from your crops or the contents of worms dig sites don’t change
Tru. No cheese for you. But if you eat a lucky lunch and hit the mines on a lucky day, there’s a good chance to get one.
AFAIK, the drops from a meteor are determined by the game when the meteor appears, not when it’s broken, so resetting will have no effect on what drops when it’s broken.
If you have any Mystic Stones spawn in the Quarry you can absolutely use this method on them though.
Is that a cat tree?
You could always try a few times to verify the contents are always the same. Many people are suggesting the meteor’s contents are set when the meteor spawns, meaning the contents would be *identical* every time you reset your day anyway. Trying that out 3 or 4 times (break, reset day, re-break) and getting *identical* drops would give you fairly high certainty it’ll never change after resetting the day.
