So I posted this same build on r/minecraftbuilds and haven't recieved any likes (one downvote) and not too many views. Why is that? Is it because I'm new? And I'm not trying to chase for likes and views, I just find this weird sense my other post did very well here

  1. Well I mean not too many views because in comparison to my first post here, it was doing a lot better, it’s currently at 385 so thats actually a lot and not a single one liked my post 😥

  2. M guess is that people casually glancing at the post may not be processing that it’s an attempt at a 1-to-1 recreation and instead judging it like they would a normal build. Not trying to lay blame at one one spot, just a guess based on general reading comprehension skills- I’m often 100% in that same boat of just not taking enough time to read lol)

It could also honestly be the algorithm.
Sometimes the site just simply doesn’t show your post to many people, or the time of day you posted affects how the algorithm treats it.

Regardless, I like your work! Doing real life recreations is beyond my wheelhouse and I appreciate those that do this kind of detailing- I hope you keep it up!

If you are willing to take criticism, know that this is objectively bad. There’s too much colour noise and it’s difficult to differentiate one thing from another, even with the reference picture. When working to-scale in vanilla without data entities you gotta ditch the finer details, there’s just no workaround. Else, you end up with this hot mess that you can’t really make anything out of. But I still find you have creativity and should keep trying to improve 😀 First you can try removing the buttons, as I don’t see their equivalent in the reference? I really like how you made the wall lamp and also the window looks really good! There’s really no colour equivalent and it’s probably what stands out the most, so consider using another wood type? For the paintings in the wall try using invisible frames (you can get them with commands) and using either banners or map art. Other blocks could look good, too! That’s my two cents, I’m sure you can continue to improve your work on your own and on other’s advice. This is just what I think, it’s not hate.

Lastly, I’d say you look into other styles. If you find fun to recreate these in Minecraft, definitely try and see if data entities technique is for you! Also consider the mods Cocricot and Miniaturia for 1.12.2 (immediately what I thought of when I saw your reference photo. I’m SURE you’ll find it really fun!).

    Keep on working!

It’s hard for viewers to read the first image- we can kinda see it’s a staircase and door etc but it does look a bit like random blocks placed about- no offense. Also since it’s bigger than player-scale it’s harder to tell what it is at first

Your first attempt isnt great honestly. Its kind of messy and I have no clue what I am looking at. It seems like bad procedural generation.

Your subsequent attempt is insanely good though. It looks photo realistic which I didn’t think was possible in minecraft. If I saw the second photo without someone telling me it was a minecraft build I honestly would never have known.

    Great progress!
