As I read through this fourum, I just see a lot of slander about the ranger class as a whole and I just don’t get it.
I’ve been playing this game for 10 years now and I genuinely enjoy playing ranger and I would say it’s my favorite class.
Is there a better feeling than using the bee bow, mini shark, and phoenix blaster in pre hardmode
No better feeling then cooking up enemys pre mech with the clockwork and uzi
Nothing beats beating the twins with the mini shark
Doesn’t get better than beating duke with the tactical
Nothing better than beating daytime empress of light with the chain machine gun and chlor bullets
Let me know your thoughts?

Nothing is bad, its a fun cool class thats it.

i think people just find it a bit boring because well you point a L shaped object and shoot shit at random stuff
i find it fun though because im a ranger main but not the point
My take is its the most “skillful” class and doesn’t really get good till hardmode, it could also be boring in some peoples eyes because they limit themself to just gun or just bows and don’t use everything they have available to them, ranger as a class has a lot going on but it usually takes more effort than melee or summoner. But that’s just my take on it, so if you disagree, don’t take it to heart.
I love it. I just beat daytime empress of light for the first time last night using the chain gun and chlorophyte bullets. All the damage accessories available to ranger make it incredibly strong – especially for that fight. The piranha gun is great too
all the classes get hate for different reasons… ive been playing for over a decade now and here is what ive seen it boiled down too
melee: “i cant tank anything” “the devs give melee too much”
reason: they cant figure out distance and think they can facetank everything
ranger:”i cant hit anything” “i keep running out of ammo”
reason: their aim sucks and they dont prep for boss fights
mage: “there isnt enough mana” “these spells all suck”
reason: they cant stop shooting randomly and have no imagination on how to use a versitile arsenal
summoner: “i keep dying” “my summons arent hitting what i need them to”
reason: they cant figure out dodging and arent using their whips properly
all the classes get hate and most of it is player error
It’s a little bit plain but it’s not bad
It’s the best class in the game out right??? What?

Strong late game only really challenged by late game summoner.
I think it’s just a bit boring in terms of accessories and could get some more stuff, at least one more for bow users and one more for gun users imo. Still enjoying my current ranger run a fair bit (pre mech rn)
The biggest problem is that it has less variety overall.
It can still pack a punch, but beyond pack-a-punching it lacks the same flare melee, summoner, and mage have.
1) Farming for ammo can get annoying.
2) If you don’t like guns and/or bows you lose like half your options. And even if you like guns you’re still competing with magic guns from mage.
Idk I think it’s fun sometimes. It’s as easy as the other classes. Except magic, magic is garbage
Progression is boring since most of the time bow and gun upgrades are just bigger damage numbers and faster fire rates. All of the interesting parts are stuffed into the ammo, but there is rarely more than two ammo types viable at any stage of the game
Ranger is so good its boring is the problem. Especially on console with lock on.
The fact that there are no hard mode throwing weapons
Ranger is one of if not the easiest classes to beat the game. Many weapons will last you for a long time and don’t require a crazy amount of effort to acquire like some other classes
literally nothing as longs as you don’t use chloro bullets
Between chlorophyte bullets, ichor arrows, and the general pragmatism of being able to hit things from far away, it makes things weird for the other three classes because they have to compete with it.
That’s the only flaw. It’s so good that it makes you question why you’d want to use anything else. There are good answers to that question, of course, but anyone who takes a moment to think will find themselves asking that.
Ranger is by far the best class sadly ,its unbalanced,its also bit boring and to ezy to play so People dont like it.
In my opinion there favorite class usualy summoner just looks beyond bad compared to Ranger and they cant accept it!+ Lots thing the Ranger class strugles with ammunition wich is a lie and that you use clorophyte bullets wich is just for 2 fights lol
slander from literally who. Mage is dogshit and melee has been buffed to the moon whilst all the other classes receive the most useless nerfs known to mankind (like the dart nerf). Those two classes deserve hating on way more.

Some thing the fighs are boring,but its the players who choose the boring way to beat bosses/mobs.
Most funn way to beat cathulu in my opinion is by using the fosil weapons.you cant tell me there is a more funn way?when cathulu looks like a hedgehog and the bleed stacks agh!

Vs skeletron Blood bow!
Wall bee grenades.destroyer dart riffle cursed just a rain of green Slime.
So many funn stuff not sure what part of it is boring?
Ranger is my favourite class but I understand why some people dislike it. In a world like Terraria, you see all the fun, creative toys other classes get, mage especially, and you can’t help but feel that ranged weapons are basic by comparison. But that’s what makes them great to me: you have a few more experimental and novelty weapons, but most of what you’ll be using is simple and reliable, point and shoot, the end. They do exactly what you need them to in an uncomplicated and efficient way, and there’s also tons of different ammo to use so there’s not shortage of adaptability.
Some loathe its simplicity, others call it an uncreative class, some even genuinely defend that it’s boring. I call it powerful and reliable, and have always had the most fun with it out of all 4 classes. So from a ranger main, enjoy it if you like it, use something else if you don’t.

uhhhh, did you mean megashark?
also, in pre-hardmode, the night’s edge feels so good. this is coming from a mage main, so no bias here.
My main beef is that there are zero pre hard mode accessories.
Sounds like a vocal minority if anything. Ranger, my beloved. If it wasn’t for the Morning Star (I don’t believe they hid it!) I’d probably only play Ranger, Fish and Glitter coded weapons are *doing* it for me.
