I hope it works out. Seriously, I had to make this cake twice because the first time a piece of my kitchen equipment broke inside of it, and we had to toss the whole cake. I am looking forward to it.
Every time you decorate a cake you will get better for the next time. It’s like any other skill. The more you do, the more you try, the more you learn.

And regardless of the results your best is good enough. You are not a pastry chef, you are doing this for love of the game. If you enjoyed making it maybe you’ll try baking more, if you didn’t it doesn’t matter because you made the effort. I am a self taught baker with the equivalent skills of a professional pastry chef in every category except for decorating. I’ve been baking for fun for around 16 years and I remain horrible at decorating and presenting cakes and pastries. Even without tasting it I know you did a great job because you put the effort in!
