The only crafting range images I found were too abstract for my little brain, so I tested the ranges myself
The aetherium/cloud walls are the ranges visualized; the small inner rectangle is a non-artisan loafed character, and the larger outer rectangle is after eating an artisan loaf
Crafting stations need to have one square within the respective ranges of your character to be accessed

You should do one for chest range!
I wonder if there are ppl who make seperate rooms for crafting like Room A for Equipment Room B for Weapon Crafting Room C for miscellaneous so on and just make another room full of teleporter connected to the rooms I mentioned
