At this point the redstone aspect of my five year old handbuilt city project is becoming more and more central to it even if all of the work is basically invisible being below ground–even playing in creative getting all of the circuits to work is the most challenging aspect of the game as they grow more complex, but I enjoy figuring it out on my own (I only had to get help when I independently discovered quasi connectivity before the neighbors complained about the loud cursing) and it adds a figurative and literal whole layer of depth to building and decorating plus the realism of having a utility going on. Eventually all of these powerlines, which now meet in a room under a random intersection in the geographical center of the city, will go from that room in a large tunnel (at least 15 2×1 tunnels for the individual powerlines) all the way to the port of the city, to a Battersea type power station, in which I hope to be able to build a large switchboard that controls all of these aspects individually and by groups.
