Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a Minecraft mod called Dangerous. The idea behind it is simple: hostile mobs should not stay the same forever.
In vanilla Minecraft, once you get decent armor and weapons, most hostile mobs stop feeling threatening. I wanted to change that by making enemies gradually become stronger as the world gets older.
Dangerous adds progressive difficulty scaling based on the in-game day count. Hostile mobs can receive increased health, better equipments, enchantments, and some extra behavior changes depending on the configuration.
Some current features:
– Hostile mob health scaling over time
– Zombies, skeletons, wither skeletons, piglins, piglin brutes, pillagers and vindicators
– Skeletons/Pillagers can switch between ranged and melee combat
– Creepers and spiders become faster
– Spiders can apply a custom Spider Venom effect, which reduces the player's natural healing while the effect is active
– Super configurable difficulty values
– Support for multiple Minecraft versions/loaders
Forge: 1.20.1 – 1.21.1
NeoForge 1.21.1+
Fabric: 1.21.1+
I’m still actively improving the mod and I’m thinking about adding more features, such as:
– elite mob variants
– dangerous night events
– dimension-specific difficulty
– more Nether and End mob behavior
I’d really appreciate feedback, ideas or balance suggestions.
