The developer already really likes the current version.
Recently, Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone, also known as ConcernedApe, published a new blog post. He talked a little about his work on his next project, Haunted Chocolatier.
The developer thanked the players who are waiting for Haunted Chocolatier and noted that he has been “very productive” lately. He also made it clear that he would not rush the release:
I’m not too worried about how long it takes, because, well, that’s the reality, given my pace and all my other commitments. I won’t sacrifice the quality of the game by rushing its release or releasing it too early. Otherwise, all my time would still be wasted. But almost everyone supports me, so I essentially have nothing to complain about. I really appreciate it.
ConcernedApe explained that his goal is to make a game he can be proud of and that he himself will enjoy playing. At this stage, he is confident that when Haunted Chocolatier is finished, he will like it:
To be honest, I already enjoy playing it in its current, unfinished state, especially after some recent additions I’ve made… I hope others will enjoy it too when it’s ready.

Haunted Chocolatier still does not have a specific release date. ConcernedApe fans can only wait patiently — Stardew Valley has shown that the wait is worth it.
