Fortnite update 1.000.230 is available to download on PS5, Xbox, Switch, and PC. According to the official Fortnite patch notes, the latest update v42.10 adds the Sweeper Shotgun, five new Loot Hacks, three new Match Overrides, and four new Sprites. It also introduces Sprite Mastery rewards, improves mobile controls, and fixes issues affecting Sonic Power Sneakers, Cheat Codes, cosmetics, and PC performance. Today’s Fortnite patch 1.000.230 also adds Touch Smoothing, new Festival Jam controls, and the Jam Track Player for Creative Islands. It also improves LEGO Fortnite contraptions, fixes Sonic Power Sneakers issues, and resolves major Save the World, cosmetic, and performance problems.

Fortnite Override v42.10 Loot Pool and Balance Changes
Sweeper Shotgun: The weapon returns with a standard shotgun spread instead of its previous wide pattern.
The Sweeper Shotgun’s reload can now be interrupted to fire as soon as shells are loaded.
The Sweeper Shotgun fires faster while retaining the same damage output.
The Sweeper Shotgun has a slightly smaller magazine and shorter maximum range.
New Loot Hacks: The Caduceus Staff, Scorpion’s Combat Kit, Wrecker Revolver, Deadeye Assault Rifle, and Holo Twister Assault Rifle have been added.
Sprite Dust spent on Loot Hacks can be reset and respecced freely within each set, but does not carry over to the next Loot Hack refresh.
The Loot Hacks weapon quality cap has been lowered. Hacked weapons now range from Rare to Legendary instead of Epic to Mythic.
Pump Shotgun: Damage has been slightly increased, and the weapon equips faster.
8-Bit Shotgun: Damage has been reduced, and the weapon equips faster.
Assault Rifle: The headshot damage multiplier and Mythic damage have been slightly reduced. Reloading is also slightly slower.
Mega Buster: Projectile speed has been increased.
Fortnite Override Match Overrides and Sprite Updates
Big Head Mode: Everyone has a big head.
Prop Hunt: Players can crouch and remain still for several seconds to transform into a prop.
Action Hero: Players enter Hangtime while aiming weapons mid-air and deal increased damage.
Sharpshooter: This Match Override arrives next Thursday. It increases weapon accuracy and reduces recoil and bloom.
Match Overrides are now more likely to appear two to three times in a match, while Squad Only Overrides are slightly less common.
X-Ray Sprite: Periodically marks enemies in an area around the player.
Onigiri Sprite: Applies Overdrive after the player eats or drinks a consumable item.
Mega Man Sprite: Reduces friction, allowing players to slip and slide around.
Overshield Sprite: Grants Overshield that scales with Sprite Level.
Mastering a Sprite now reduces its Sprite Dust resummon cost by half.
A new Sprite Mastery reward track grants rewards and Gizmos for mastering Sprites. More rewards will be added with each update.
Version 42.20 will add an arcade-themed Back Bling to display mastered Sprites.
Some Cheat Code sequences have been adjusted to make them feel more natural to input.
Mastery Mondays return on September 7.
Fortnite Override Power Hours and Weekend Event
Power Hours take place on Saturday, September 5, with boosted Cheat Master Sprites, including the new Sprites from this update.
Everyone drops in with one Golden Apple, two Jellyfish, and three Peppers.
Cheat Master Sprites appear more often.
1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors may drop from Chests.
The first session runs from 2 PM ET to 4 PM ET, or 6 PM UTC to 8 PM UTC.
The second session runs from 9 PM ET to 11 PM ET, or Sunday from 1 AM UTC to 3 AM UTC.
Fortnite Gameplay, Environment, and UI Fixes
Lobby Hack: INVALIDCHEAT is no longer invalid.
The 8-Bit Leaderboard has been cleared of entries earned through invalid methods. Scores from Custom matches no longer count toward the Leaderboard.
Players viewed from a distance now move more smoothly instead of appearing choppy.
Fixed a movement issue that prevented sprinting when Forward Diagonal Angle, also known as double movement, was set above 70.
Fixed jittery movement animations caused by sliding into or falling onto boost pads at Green Hill Zone, or canceling boost while stepping on one.
Players rebooted using the Sonic Power Sneakers no longer respawn with an incorrectly zoomed camera.
The spectator camera now consistently follows and centers on players using the Sonic Power Sneakers’ Spin Attack.
Opening the inventory or map while charging the Sonic Power Sneakers’ Spin Dash no longer leaves players stuck in place.
Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented players from hopping off grind rails at Green Hill Zone.
The Tails Sprite no longer leaves a persistent pulsing effect on the player’s back that becomes more intense while aiming down sights.
Fixed several Cheat Codes that were difficult or impossible to interact with unless players stood at a specific angle, appeared invisible, or failed to accept inputs.
The Storm Scout Sprite’s Overdrive effect no longer lasts longer than intended.
Mastering the Crown Sprite now correctly grants its Cheat Master variant.
The Sprite Summon button no longer remains disabled after returning to Battle Royale from Reload.
Pinging Tetris Rift blocks after their animation ends no longer displays a placeholder icon.
Fortnite Mobile and PC Improvements
Touch Smoothing: A new setting under Touch and Motion gives players more control over touch camera rotation. It defaults to 50%, matching the v41.20 change, while 0% restores the original feel.
Tap to Sprint: With Auto-Run enabled, tapping Sprint while standing still now starts sprinting in the direction the player is facing. If stamina runs out, auto-running continues until Sprint is tapped again after stamina recovers.
Auto Fire and Aim Assist now trigger consistently around the Stone Sanctum’s hidden maze walls and doors, depending on whether an enemy can be seen.
The Cheat Code near the ice cubes east of The Battlewoods no longer appears beneath the ground.
The Secondary Action button for the God Mode Llama now works correctly.
The Battle Bus now reliably appears and flies normally at the start of Blitz matches on Android.
PC input latency has been reduced when VSync is enabled, with the largest improvements on AMD and Intel GPUs at 60 Hz.
Performance Mode has been further optimized, allowing low-spec systems to render at noticeably higher resolutions without additional GPU cost or major visual differences.

Two Ziplines east of Neo Tilted now work correctly from both ends.
Fixed flickering textures, floating structures, and cables clipping through the floor west of Loot Lake.
Grass no longer clips through multiple floors and sidewalks across Paradise Palms.
Corrected the oversized Chest at Neo Tilted.
Removed duplicate dinosaur and camel statues at Paradise Palms.
Fixed flickering textures and a floating wall at Frosty Flights.
Objects at the ruined house at Snobby Shores now fall correctly when their supports are destroyed, and a visible terrain gap in the southern area has been fixed.

Fortnite Save the World Fixes
Fixed an issue causing the game to close unexpectedly when loading into Save the World on PlayStation 5.
Players can now return to Homebase after completing a Mission with a custom matchmaking key applied.
Sliding no longer gets canceled immediately when using the Old School controller configuration.
The Play With Others menu no longer assigns a Mission above the selected Power Level when no lobbies are found.
The inaccurate Insufficient Power Rating message no longer appears when canceling a Play With Others search.
The X Marks the Spot Quest description now clarifies that progress requires a 70+ Ghost Town zone.
Defenders now engage enemies correctly at point-blank range and play their reload animation properly.
Defenders no longer shoot at the ground when the player takes damage from a Whack-A-Troll bomb.
Outlanders can no longer activate Anti-Material Charge in mid-air after jumping off a mount.
Sprays can no longer be applied to player-built structures.
Jam Loops can now be joined and started when players stand above or below the circle.
The party leader now has a star icon beside their name in the Lobby, HUD party bar, and in-game.
The Play button under the Map tab now shows which player the team is waiting on.
Game Chat messages are now visible between players during Missions.
Trap, weapon, and Hero Class icons no longer appear zoomed in on the Owned Llamas tab.
The Retire screen message for Defenders who cannot be retired no longer incorrectly references Hero Loadouts.
The Storm Shield terminal menu can now be navigated with a controller while the Emote Wheel is held open.
Redundant Close and Back prompts have been removed from Homebase. The remaining Back prompt now displays both keybinds.
Fixed additional cases where Gadget icons overlapped Health and Shield numbers.
Voice Chat indicators no longer appear twice beside party Health bars.
Fixed several visible gaps across Homebase.
Weapon Perks now appear in a consistent order instead of changing position as they unlock.
Fortnite LEGO Fortnite Improvements
Newly placed activated and standard balloons now apply lift from the balloon itself rather than its base. Already placed balloons continue to function as before.
Wheels can now use different channels for moving and steering.
Custom channel icons now display correctly on contraptions featuring wheels.
Teleport times have been improved on low-end platforms and in built-up worlds.
Fixed an issue where players could become stuck on an infinite teleport screen.
Peely Villages and other rare POIs now spawn correctly.
Fixed a crash that could occur when traveling to a bus station during the loading screen.
Resolved the visual glitch during the teleport-to-bed effect in Klom Home Potions.
Power Centers now play sound correctly when powering wheels on static objects.
Fixed large white textures appearing across the world, particularly around the Storm biome.
Players can now swipe through the main building tabs on mobile.
Bonus stamina now displays correctly on the stamina bar.
Oni Decor tomes now grant all intended decor items.
Pressure plates and trigger plates can now attach to snap points.
In Brick Life, Minifig movement no longer stutters while walking up all three flights of airship stairs in Brick Life Homes.
Fixed player Minifig jitter while walking or running on stairs.
Fortnite Festival Updates
Jam Access Controls: Players can now restrict Jams to Party members by selecting Party Only in the Change Tempo/Key menu. Switching back to Anyone opens the Jam to new players. The next Jam remembers the last access level, and a permanent default can be set under Settings → Audio → Jam Tracks.
Closer Jam Circles: Jam circles can now overlap at their outer edges, reducing the Too Close To Another Jam message and leaving more room for players to start Jams.
Jam Track Player: The Jam Track Player is now available in Creative Islands. When Jam Tracks are enabled, players can listen to tracks without interrupting gameplay. To use it, open the Emote Wheel, select Jam Tracks, switch to Listen mode, and choose a track.
Known Issues in the Fortnite Update
Players using custom binds may be unable to pick up weapons and items or interact with objects. Rebinding the Interact action to custom binds is a temporary workaround.
Cosmic Armor Singularity Styles, including Helmet On/Off, may not appear consistently when previewing the Outfit in the Shop. The Styles are still granted and available in the Locker after purchase. A fix is planned for 42.20.
The Chrome Punk Outfit’s head may appear orange or gold instead of chrome.
Players may become stuck in the building animation when quickly switching between Build and Edit Modes with custom scroll wheel binds.
Ammo from Loot Hack drops may not be picked up automatically when walking over it.
Reboot Vans may fail to reboot players after the progress bar reaches 100%. Holding the Interact button past 100% is a temporary workaround.
Ambient audio around The Devourer’s skull is missing or quieter than intended in Fortnite OG. A fix is planned for 42.20.
The Power Hour timer is not displayed on the Save the World Map screen while the event is active.
Research Point grants after completing Missions are temporarily disabled while an issue is investigated.
Inconsistent weapon damage output is being investigated, particularly during Mythic Storm King fights.
On Xbox One, Directional Jump Pads do not activate when Phase Shifting onto them.
The Hero Commander Buckle+ Perk currently provides reduced effective damage as weapon level increases.
In Fortnite Festival, the lane divider is incorrectly present for Pro Parts.
The Main Stage Auto-emote setting may not always apply properly.
The green fret on guitar peripherals can stop responding during Main Stage Pro Lead/Pro Bass Local Multiplayer.
Smashing two cymbal gems at the same time during Main Stage Pro Drums can break the streak.
Main Stage Pro Drums may display scoring discrepancies when Lefty Flip is enabled.
Previously, a major Fortnite update 39.40 added a Valentine’s Day event with themed quests and cosmetics, multiple crossover waves arrive including Honkai Star Rail, Marvel Rivals Wave 2, K-Pop Demon Hunters, and Chappell Roan. Unfortunately, players are still facing several issues with the game. Today’s Fortnite version 1.000.230 will fix a few of these issues.
