The Mines are a staple in any farming sim, but the ones in Fields of Mistria act more like a labyrinth of dungeons all stacked on top of one another. Knowing this, it’s important to prepare ahead of time so you can unlock each biome within easily.
We’ll break down what’s in each biome so you can prepare your storage accordingly and delve deeper at your own pace. Take a look and start digging into the mines as soon as possible!
How To Unlock The Upper Mines
The upper mines are the first few levels you unlock, and you’ll become intimately familiar with them as time progresses. You’ll reach this area in the Narrows, west of the museum. This unlocks naturally as you progress through the story–and it will become a staple of your daily routine.
Once you reach floor 20 in the mines, you’ll face your first tablet chamber. To progress any further, you’ll need to break the seal. For this, you need to consult with Eiland to translate the ancient text.

To break the seal, you’ll need to present four items you can loot from the previous floors in the mines:
Stone Loach. Fished from bodies of water in the Upper Mines.Upper Mines Mushroom. Foraged from the Upper Mines.Ruby. Found in Ruby Nodes or collected from Copperclod Monsters when slain.Lantern Moth. Bug caught in the Upper Mines.The Tide Caverns Floors
The floors in the Tide Caverns are filled with water, allowing you to fish and swim around to uncover all sorts of treasures. Here, you can also collect Iron Ore to improve your tools.
Once you reach Floor 40, though, you’ll find another tablet with a series of offerings to make. Doing so will unlock the Deep Earth biome. Below are the items you need to break the earth seal:

In this region, nature has overgrown its welcome in the mines. Lush caverns with rich soil and plentiful monsters await you, as well as crystals and silver ore.
Upon reaching Floor 60, you’ll encounter the infamous Fire Seal, which will pose more of a challenge than the previous floors.

Once inside the Lava Caverns, things really heat up. You can use your watering can to cool lava enough to walk across it, so make sure you bring plenty of food to replenish your energy.
At the bottom of the biome, on Floor 80, you’ll encounter yet another seal–but this one is far more complicated. You’ll need to enter the void to even unlock the altars for the other offerings.

Void items require Void Sight to collect, so you can’t prepare these items in advance.

Once inside the final biome, the Ancient Ruins, you’ll start to put together the pieces of the past. A special forge is unlocked that creates Dragon-Forged artifacts you will use at the very bottom to break the final seal within the mines.
