Microsoft (MSFT) CEO Satya Nadella says Minecraft had record revenue and engagement in Q1 FY27

Xbox’s content and services were part of Microsoft Devices and Consumer revenue, which hit $15.5 billion in Q1 FY27.

During Microsoft’s Q1 FY27 investor relations conference call, CEO Satya Nadella claimed that one Xbox’s biggest franchises, Minecraft, put up its best revenue and engagement yet in Q1 FY27.

As Microsoft hosted its Q1 FY27 investor conference call to go with its earnings results, here’s what Satya Nadella had to say about Xbox and gaming:

In gaming, we remain focused on building great games and reaching players wherever they choose to play across console, PC, mobile, and cloud. Minecraft delivered a record quarter, reaching all-time highs in both engagement and revenue while World of Warcraft had its largest beta in franchise history. We enter the holiday season with one of our strongest first- and third-party lineups in years, including Modern Warfare 4, which launched last week to the best reviews for a Call of Duty game in more than a decade, and Grand Theft Auto 6, which is coming to Xbox next month.

While Nadella doesn’t outright state Minecraft’s revenue, Xbox content and services (down 2 percent year-over-year) was included Microsoft’s Devices and Consumer section, which posted revenue of $15.5 billion in Q1 FY27. That $15.5 billion in revenue is where Minecraft’s record revenue would be included.

As long as Minecraft has been around – long enough to change ownership, studio names, and spinoff into countless projects such as the recent Minecraft Dungeons 2 – it’s impressive to see the game still making records 17 years down the line. For more updates on all things from the franchise, stay tuned to the Minecraft topic.
