There's corruption biomes on both sides of my world very early on and I only have tin armor, what do I do?

Terraria was recommended on youtube and now i kinda want to get back into the game. I had a character many many years ago with some nice stuff at the time and reds wings or something but seems like they got taken out of my inventory

If you ask me i would say the best way to start is to start and expert when its challenging but not that challenging and also completing expert for a beginner would obviously make them happy unless the give up
