All this tunneling around the shimmer reminds me when i was first playing terraria over a decade ago and i didnt know what obsidian skin potion was so i just tunneled around the lava to dig hellstone

I know I'm a bit late but I believe I remember that if you drain too much liquid at once the game will delete most of it which is why it appeared to drain the entire surface. It would be impossible to run physics for such an insanely large amount of liquids otherwise
