Why should I do this method… When I'm trying to get the #1 thing that'll stop all that wheat from getting killed by weeds… Golden Clock?
Also with all the wheat turn it into beer!!! Takes only a couple days then sells for 200 a piece after buying it for 10
I really wish we could do more with our animals. Like a simple run with just a normal amount of animals id love to feed the cat a fish or the chickens corn or why can't we give our cows amaranth or goats cave carrots. Sure it would mean there would need to be an effect like faster hearts or other effects but then there would be more reason to grow certain crops.

Don't sell the wheat! Turn it into Beer. You get hundreds of g, instead of tens of g. And it only takes a day or two.
I did this in the fall realizing I had no hay for my chickens and would have to spend like- 50$ per hay, so I’m like. NAW. I’d rather make some easy money by selling wheat and making some hay from it. ☠️ but I had no idea you didn’t need to water it 🫠
Just get the grass start recipe and make sure u have fiber smh
or u can use grass starters but its more expensive
Just buy a grass starter and place them sporadically around the farm and let them grow. Cut them back with the scythe but not completely and you’ll always have hay. That’s what I do 🤷♀️

You can also cut grass and take all the hay out of your silo so you can fill it up again(by pulling it out if the coop or barn feeders). I've never needed the extra stack yet but it'll be nice If I run out somehow
I just go scythe the grass a few times per in game week and keep the silos close to full. Or whenever i think about it.
Theres a glitch that happened to me where my hay just kept going up beyong the limit

Grass grows and spreads so fast i just let them graze most of the time. I just make sure to have an extra silo filled for winter
May Animals starving and watching as I refuse to water thier food for the 8th day in a row
Step 1 build shed put plant boxes inside.
Step2 put deluxe retain fertilizer so they never have to be watered again.
Step 3 plant wheat in shed all year long never run out of hay again. On a side note throw all the wheat into a seed makers for more wheat seed, cycle repeats.
Ok logic time, the easiest way to get hay is cutting grass, if it is winter and there is no grass, planting wheat isn't going to help, it's winter.

i buy a buncha wheat seeds and grow them through winter in the greenhouse for extra hay

Wheat is a wildly inefficient way to get hay compared to just sectioning off the space you would use to farm, to instead plant a few grass starters on the last of winter, letting them grow and occasionally cutting some holes in the middle of the large patch with the golden scythe. This will net tons of hay since it grows back for free until winter, so just make sure to cut everything down on the last of fall and youll be good.
I just have eight to twelve dedicated quality sprinklers set to take care of my wheat for two whole months. Also- don’t put all your hay directly in the silo. Pull some out and put it in a chest.
Nah da weeds growing on my farm keep them happy then a harvest it and trim it back to keep it from destroying my farm while collecting hay as well, there fore I have at least three chest full of hay
