The reason behind "torch god", is that Re-Logic added "torch luck". If you used the right torch for the right biome you would get more luck, but if you just use default torches you would have less luck throughout the entire playthrough.
In rebellion against this awful mechanic (specifically negative torch luck) players put hundreds of torches in one area and posted it, until Re-Logic removed negative torch luck, and made it so that if you have 100 or more torches in one area the torches will start attacking you.
Torch god is easy af, I don’t even play terraria like that. I got into it for like a month and heard about it and just did it in a random cave in two tries
If y’all want to know the actual easiest way, it’s just moving a bit away from the torches so the projectiles are super easy to dodge, wya easier then making a Minecart trail
I did the Torch God this morning by just having a regeneration setup (post Moon Lord) and standing still. It was dealing 1 damage at a time that was quickly regenerated.
The easiest way to beat it without making a whole ass setup is just go to crimson cave becuz it has a ton of space to move around and place some platforms

This is quite pointless, you can just use ropes and platforms to go in circles and you'll never get hit even without hermes boots

It doesnt do heavy damage, its just a guarantee to die between 3-5 hits no matter of health and defense (cant remember de ecact number)
So you're telling me the easiest way to defeat the torch god is to build a guardian killer
I just make it rain for the nurse, she gets paid and I get a luck boost.

The first time i played terraria [mobile] i accidentally summoned AND beat the boss so technically the first boss i beat was the torch god

Just use the nurse npc since the torch god projectiles don’t damage npc’s
I ususally go balls to the walls and practice my dodging with torch God event for fun

I found this boss out while digging around jungle temple
The easiest way to beat it without making a whole ass setup is just go to crimson cave becuz it has a ton of space to move around and place some platforms
